Value
Home Chef is $9.95 per serving. They also offer premium meals plans that include items such as lamb and filet mignon. The premium additions will run you $19.95 per serving and take longer than some of their regular meals.
Taste
The meals we have tried from Home Chef have all been very good. Each recipe usually has a nice sauce which really brings the meal together.
Ingredient Quality
All of the ingredients we have received have been fresh and delicious. Some recipes include 10 or more ingredients and we check them all for quality.

Recipe Variety
Home Chef offers a dozen or so recipes to choose from every week. The selection is good but we do notice repeats fairly often and if you forget to check your box, you will likely get a meal you’ve tried before.
We also found that a majority of the recipes included roasted vegetables. Now don’t get us wrong, we love roasted veggies. It’s certainly one of the best ways to cook them but we would like try some new techniques every now and again.
Home Chef now offers the option to customize some of their recipes by choosing antibiotic free chicken or different meats.
Ease of Cooking
The recipe cards are broken down into steps with pictures for each. The pictures make it easier to follow the recipe. We would not call the recipes “quick-and-easy” Many of the recipes take 30 or more minutes to make.

Dietary Restrictions
Home Chef offers low calorie options and 3-4 vegetarian options per week. If you have more strict dietary requirements, you may have a hard time finding the correct meals. They do allow you to filter out some ingredients like milk, pork, nuts and fish but this will narrow down your options for the week.
