Dinnerly is the meal kit that is always 50% off. It is one of the cheapest meal delivery kits available that makes it an attractive option for families. If budget and time are both factors in making a decision for a meal delivery kit, Dinnerly is a good choice.

At only $4.99 per serving, the kit is the most affordable around. The recipes are easy, fast and use limited ingredients. If you are looking for kid-friendly meals, this is the kit for you. The recipes are good for most picky eaters and they are easy enough that the kids could help in the kitchen and learn how to cook.

We found Dinnerly to be a solid option for a cheap and easy meal delivery service. If you are looking to have your entire week of meals delivered, Dinnerly makes a great pairing with one of the more expensive services.

Dinnerly Review

Dinnerly was one of the first meal delivery services that we tried. The attractive price was what lead us to give it a shot. The price is nice, but sometimes it showed in the quality of the meals.

Value

$4.99 per serving is hard to beat. You won’t find a better price when it comes to a meal delivery kit.

Because of the price, we did not expect huge portion sizes but the meals were a little slim sometimes, particularly when it came to meat dishes. There was never a shortage of vegetables though, we often ended up with a plate and a half of vegetables.

Taste

The meals from Dinnerly are certainly not restaurant quality. Some were hit and miss. We found some to be quite tasty but others were just okay. Because each meal only has 6 ingredients, we thought they were sometimes lacking a little something extra to make the meal perfect.

Ingredient Quality

Ingredients we received in each box were fresh. While the ingredients were fresh, there weren’t really a lot of them. After opening the first box, I was looking for more items. It felt like $40 at the store would have went a bit further.

Recipe Variety

Picking meals through the website is easy, but choices are limited. You are given only a few options each week to pick from and these recipes often repeat.

Dinnerly only has the option of receiving 3 meals per week. No more, no less. You would not be able to use this service for 5 meals per week.

Variety is not something you get with Dinnerly. On the plus side, the recipes are good for picky eaters. The kid-friendly recipes include tacos, noodles and chicken fingers.

Preperation and Ease of Cooking

The recipes very easy to make and each one only uses 6 ingredients. Minimal ingredients means fast and easy meals. The recipes are so easy to make, we think kids could also help with the cooking to learn a lot.

Meals were not packaged together like some other meal delivery boxes. Sometimes there were different quantities of the same item and we didn’t know which meal they belonged to.

Dietary Restrictions

Dinnerly does not have different plans for different dietary restrictions. The meals are generally carbohydrate heavy with pasta and noodles being offered weekly.

Dinnerly Review
Conclusion
Dinnerly is an affordable option for meal delivery but really lacks variety and a decent option for people with specific dietary restrictions.
